This luxurious, contemporary resort in Santa Ponsa – Calvia is located just 14 kilometres from Palma de Mallorca and provides a sanctuary of calm and wellbeing amongst lush native gardens. This is not just a spa resort though. There is a focus on active leisure, as well as relaxation and the excellent facilities here include a state-of-the-art gym with a yoga studio, local running options, a choice of outdoor swimming pools, a heated indoor pool with hydro-massage pool as well as a CODAGE Paris Spa. Alongside the facilities at the hotel, there is also golf at Golf Santa Ponsa and tennis at the Mallorca Country Club, both neighbouring the hotel.
Situated in two main buildings, the elegant and spacious accommodation was designed by a local architect. Room decor combines Mallorcan tradition with contemporary living, providing a real sense of place and luxury. All rooms have an ensuite bathroom with bath and separate shower, as well as a private balcony or garden terrace and recycled cork yoga mats. In-room tech includes TV with Chromecast, wireless B&O speaker, minibar, an espresso machine and kettle for tea and coffee.
The choice of restaurants and bars include a poolside deli, a pan-Asian/Spanish fusion restaurant and a relaxed Bodega offering cocktails and world tapas. The hotel also has same day laundry and dry cleaning services.

Itinerary
It’s entirely up to you how you plan your training schedule during your stay. There are running route options that set off directly from the hotel or you could go further afield to enjoy some spectacular views while you run. Choose your route each day and also when you wish to rest and relax. During the hotter summer months, avoid the heat of the day by running in the early mornings or evenings. Below are a few examples of areas to run:
- Palma, Pollensa and Alcudia – for flatter, longer routes
- Serra de Tramuntana – for tougher mountain routes with varied terrain – lower level routes through forests, higher level routes along limestone paths
- Andratx to Pollensa – full Ultra distance of 115km – can be broken down into shorter distances
There is even a local company, Bicimetrics, based in Palma where you can get a full expert analysis of your running with video technology. As well as running in the local area, there are other sports close by the Kimpton Aysla Mallorca including tennis and golf just next door as well as watersports, hiking and cycling. In addition there are expansive gym facilities, a fabulous spa and swimming pools. On site there are three bars and restaurants, specialising in local food and drink, and pan-Asian cuisine as well. Nearby facilities include picturesque local beaches and hiking routes.
Alternatively, if you’re looking for places of historical interest nearby, visit Palma and its 13th-century Santa Maria Cathedral and the Moorish Almudaina royal palace.
