Depending on the length of stay you have booked with us you might arrive before or depart on different days to the following itinerary. Berlin is fascinating with plenty to see and do. The itinerary below reflects the 3 nights package. Adding extra nights is recommended allows you the time to enjoy the city.
Arrival Day, Marathon Expo, Welcome & Orientation Run/Walk
Make your way to Berlin and on arrival check in to your hotel. Hotel rooms are usually ready after 3pm; if you arrive earlier, you can leave your luggage with the hotel concierge and explore the city and surrounds. Marathon Tours & Travel team will be available in your hotel today to meet and answer any questions you might have.
Today is the best day to visit the Marathon Expo and collect your bib number and any other extra items you may have pre-ordered. The Marathon Expo has plenty to see and do so we suggest you allow time to collect your race documents, shop from the many exhibitors, listen to the experts and enjoy the pre-race vibe. There will be an opportunity to meet with your Marathon Tours & Travel team at the hotel to travel together to the Marathon Expo. For those who prefer to visit the expo independently, detailed directions will be provided in your final itinerary.
Early evening, we invite you to join your Marathon Tours & Travel team for welcome meeting and an easy run/walk to stretch the legs. The route is not expected to be longer than 5km and is likely to pass some local sights such as the Jewish Memorial, Brandenburg Gate and the Reichstag. A perfect way to see the and feel the vibe at the start/finish area. Supporters are very welcome to join too.
Saturday 28th September, 2024
Optional Breakfast Run, Preparation & Dinner
There is an organised Breakfast Run for the international visitors today. It’s fun and welcomes runners from all nations, many wear their countries traditional dress or carry their nations flags. If the route stays the same as 2023 it will start at the Charlottenburg Palace and finish 6kms later at the Olympic Stadium. Its free and you are not required to pre-register. Please let us know if you are interested and the Marathon Tours & Travel team will join you! Optional return private transport is available to book.

Often restaurants are booked up early, but you don’t need to worry about finding somewhere to carbo load this evening as you join the Marathon Tours & Travel team for a delicious and nutritious pre-race pasta dinner.

BMW BERLIN-MARATHON & Celebrations
This is the day you have trained so hard for! After an early breakfast please get ready to leave the hotel for the race start in the Tiergarten. The Marathon Tours & Travel team will be available to assist you to the race. Our team will be happy to escort runners to the start area or you can follow the directions provided to make your own way, in your own time.
From Intercity Hotel Hauptbahnhof its a straightforward 10 minutes walk to the runners only start area (front of the Reichstag).
From the Novotel Berlin Mitte hotel walk 4 minutes to U Bahn Station Spittelmarkt from where it’s a 6-minute journey to Potsdamer Platz. From there it’s just a 15-minute walk to the entrance to the runners only start area (front of the Reichstag).
Alternatively, from the Novotel Berlin Mitte hotel walk 13 minutes to U Bahn Station Museumsinsel from where it’s a 4-minute journey to Bundestag. From there it’s just a 4-minute walk to the entrance to the runners only start area (front of the Reichstag).
From the Leonardo Berlin Mitte hotel its a straightforward 15 minutes walk to the runners only start area (front of the Reichstag).
Family and friends can travel by public transport to support and spectate along the race route or join our team at a cheer point on the marathon route. The Marathon Tours & Travel team will be happy to advise.
After the race make your way back to the hotel, freshen up, relax and gaze at your lovely new shiny medal…you worked hard for it!

Enter the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON with Marathon Tours & Travel
The BMW BERLIN-MARATHON attracts over 45,000 runners every year. The 50th running of the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON promises to be one huge party and festival of celebrations. This highly anticipated marathon attracts the best in the world together with a mix of club and social runners. Cut off time to run the course is 6 hours 15 minutes so you too can experience how it feels to run a legendary marathon on a World record course and become a Berlin legend!
The start and finish are both located in the Tiergarten on Straße des 17. Juni between Brandenburg Gate and Victory Column. The course is fast, characterised by flat, wide roads with several long straight sections and enthusiastic spectators cheering you through the streets of this historic city. The BMW BERLIN-MARATHON presents all runners with a great opportunity to aim at a new PB!

Drums, music bands and an endless stream of people calling your name will bring you home for the 6 hours 15 minutes cut off. The BMW BERLIN-MARATHON presents all runners with a great opportunity to aim at a new PB! Race Time: from 9:15 AM in waves
Minimum Pace/Cut-off Time Policy: 6:15 hours after crossing the Start timing mat.
Eligibility: Marathon Tours & Travel, an authorized tour operator, is required to offer travel arrangements in conjunction with guaranteed race entry. All runners must be 18 years or older on race day to be eligible for our guaranteed entries.

Berlin Marathon Extras: Please note the official BMW BERLIN-MARATHON T-Shirt is not included in the entry fee. Merchandise can be pre-purchased at the time of registration or at the Expo. Pre-ordered and pre-purchased event merchandise to be collected at the EXPO with your race materials.
Number Pickup: You must pick up your race bib and packet at the Registration & Expo prior to race day.
Temperature: Average temperatures range between 13C to 21C (55F to 70F).
Awards: Every finisher receives a medal. You do not receive a t-shirt with this event.

Travel Insurance
Travel insurance is an essential part of any holiday you take, and we highly recommend that you purchase suitable insurance for your trip. You must ensure that your travel insurance policy also covers you to participate in running events.
Security Policy
Marathon Tours & Travel’s security policy requires that anyone staying in our room block must be registered as part of our package. If a registered client attempts to house a non-registered guest and /or invite them to attend any of our scheduled activities, the registered guest’s tour package will be forfeited and parties may be denied access to future tours. Please note that no exceptions will be made as this policy will be strictly enforced.
Race Rules and Terms of Participation
Our itinerary and details regarding the race are based on current information available at the time this package was released for sale. Whilst we expect the details to remain correct, changes are possible and will be confirmed nearer to the trip after the race organisers have confirmed final instructions. Starting Pens and Bib Numbers
Although we are licensed to sell official entries for the 2024 BMW BERLIN-MARATHON, we have no influence over the allocation of starting times and bib numbers.
Closer to the event we will send you a link which will allow you to complete the registration process for the 2024 BMW BERLIN-MARATHON. Once you have finalised the registration process, the race organisers will allocate you a starting time and bib based on the information provided. This link will not be sent until closer to race day – please do not expect it immediately after booking – it will depend on when BMW BERLIN-MARATHON send the links to us.
Please read the race rules and terms for participation carefully, as you have to accept them to participate in the event.
Berlin Marathon Extras
